Writing Prompt – Creative Copy Challenge #569

This is a writing prompt. Bet you can’t do it! Take the 10 random words below and crush writer’s block by creating a cohesive, creative short story! And remember: after (if) you finish entering your submission into the comment field, highlight your words and click the bold button to make them stand out and help you determine if you forgot any words. (If you’ve missed previous writing prompts, we BET YOU CAN’T do those, either.) NOTE: Our bolding plugin is gone, so you’ll have to put before and after each of your challenge words if you want them to stand out, but NOT REQUIRED THOUGH! Or, as cleverly done by a CCC-er you can CAPITALIZE the challenge words in your piece.

  1. Quixotic
  2. Righteous
  3. Yonda
  4. Remorse
  5. Remedy
  6. Blinded
  7. Requiem
  8. Bugger-off

with apologies to Billy and Bobby

“If’n you look over yonda, that’s where the lightnin’ blinded our Rufus.”

“Is that why he wore those lame Geordi La Forge glasses?”

“Bugger off, if’n yore goin’ to disrespect Rufus. Though, to tell the truth, Rufus had them dead eyes like Data, so the only remedy was to get them wrap-arounds on ‘im.”

“Well, Rufus made a statement with them specs.”

“Maw was so full of remorse, she went on a righteous crusade to get Braille on all the doors downtown.”

“Hah! Bet that was a quixotic waste of time.”

“You bet. She was quick and psychotic. But, then, poor Rufus got hit by a meteor, last year. That just about killed Maw. And they never found a hair of that boy’s head.”

“The funeral was nice. War’nt it Becky-sue what sang the requiem?”

    “I reckon.”
